What Is the Process to Become a KTEO Vehicle Inspector?
The process is more straightforward than it may seem.
In general, there are four main steps.
1. Have the Right Educational Qualification
The first step is to check whether your degree or vocational specialization is one of the accepted qualifications for KTEO inspectors.
2. Complete the Required Training
Future inspectors must complete the required training programme for vehicle technical inspections.
The training helps candidates understand the inspection process, the equipment used, vehicle systems, technical defects and the relevant regulations.
3. Take the Certification Exam, Where Required
Some candidates must also take certification examinations.
Since 2025, certain categories of university engineers, TEI engineering graduates and graduates of the Merchant Marine Academy Engineering Department are exempt from the specific certification examinations for light and heavy vehicles.
They must still meet the other requirements of the certification process.
4. Receive Your Official Certification
After completing the required process, you can receive your official KTEO Vehicle Inspector Certificate from the Greek Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
From that point, you can begin working as a certified Vehicle Inspector.
